Privacy Policy

Effective July 31, 2026

Type the Verse is built so that your data stays on your phone. This policy explains, plainly, what that means.

What we collect

No account, and nothing that identifies you. Type the Verse has no account system and no server of ours that stores your content. Your verses, progress, streaks, settings, and the list of apps you choose to shield are stored only on your device.

We do collect anonymous usage analytics. The app sends product events to PostHog, an analytics provider, so we can see where the app confuses people and fix it. Those events cover which screens you reached, whether a verse attempt passed or failed, and whether a purchase succeeded. They are tied to a random identifier the app generates on first launch, not to your name, email, or Apple Account, and we do not use them to track you across other apps or websites. PostHog's privacy policy is at posthog.com/privacy.

Email, only if you give it. After you subscribe, the app offers to take your email address so we can send occasional notes about the app — new verses, new features, and encouragement. Your trial-end reminder is a notification on your phone and does not depend on it. Giving us an address is optional, it is asked only after a purchase, and skipping it changes nothing about how the app works. We store it with RevenueCat, our subscription provider, alongside the subscription it belongs to. We do not sell it, we do not share it with advertisers, and you can have it deleted by writing to hello@typetheverse.com.

What we never send: which apps you shield, how many, their categories, or anything about your use of them. Apple's Screen Time design keeps that information inside your device, and the Family Controls terms forbid sharing it. That line is absolute.

Screen Time and app shielding

Type the Verse uses Apple's Family Controls and Screen Time technology to shield the apps you choose. Apple's design means we never see which apps you use, when you use them, or what you do inside them. That information stays inside Apple's frameworks on your device, and Apple's entitlement terms prohibit it from ever leaving.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat, a subscription infrastructure provider, to validate purchases. RevenueCat receives purchase records (product, price, and an anonymous app-generated identifier) but never your name, email, or payment details — Apple keeps those. RevenueCat's privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.

What we never do

Data deletion

Deleting the app deletes your data, because your device is the only place it exists. Subscription records are retained by Apple under Apple's own policies.

Children

Type the Verse is a personal device-management app, not a parental-control app, and is not directed at children under 13. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Because the app collects nothing, changes are unlikely to be interesting.
