Terms of Use

Effective July 31, 2026

By downloading or using Type the Verse, you agree to these terms and to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

The service

Type the Verse shields apps you choose on your own device and unlocks them when you type a Bible verse. It is a personal-use tool for managing your own screen time. It is not a parental-control product and is not a substitute for professional advice of any kind.

Subscriptions

Scripture

Verses are drawn from the Berean Standard Bible, the World English Bible, and the King James Version, which are in the public domain or freely licensed for this use.

Acceptable use

Don't attempt to reverse-engineer, resell, or misuse the app or its services. The emergency unlock and free tier exist so the shield never traps you; circumventing the shield by other means is between you and your own resolve.

Disclaimer

Type the Verse is provided "as is." We work hard to keep it reliable, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted operation, and we are not liable for consequences of the app blocking or failing to block any app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the past twelve months.

Changes

We may update these terms; the current version always lives at this page with its effective date. Continued use after a change means acceptance.
